Shibarium devs in Hot Soup for Copy-Pasting Code

Shibarians devs were already jumping with excitement for the beta version of Shibarium. But after more technical details such as Chain ID, RPC nodes, block explorer, faucet, and bridge were revealed, they started to smell something fishy.

One sharp Shibarian on Discord noticed that the Chain ID, 917, was the same as Rinia’s, a blockchain project that launched in December last year. This caused an uproar in the community, as Chain ID is a unique identifier that distinguishes one blockchain from another. Wallet applications like MetaMask use it to determine where to send transactions, so it’s highly unlikely for two projects to have the same Chain ID by sheer coincidence.

Copy-Pasting or Coincidence?

The Shibarians raised an eyebrow, wondering whether the Shibarium devs had taken the easy way out and copy-pasted code from Rinia. But the devs denied the accusations, saying that the number was just a random choice, and they did not copy any code. They also mentioned that the Chain ID would be changed before the final launch, giving Shibarium its unique identifier.

But the Shibarians are still suspicious. Was it a mere coincidence, or were the devs just trying to cover their tracks? Only time will tell.

Shibarians are not afraid to voice their concerns, and if there’s one thing for sure, the devs won’t be able to sweep this under the rug. So until the final launch of Shibarium, we can only sit back and watch the drama unfold.
