EU Gets Serious About Privacy and Approves Top-Secret Tech for Digital IDs!
The EU is getting serious about keeping our personal data on lockdown! They’ve just given the green light to some fancy new tech called zk-proof to beef up their digital ID framework. That means we can finally keep our info away from prying eyes and Big Tech’s sticky fingers.
The European Digital Identity is about to get a major upgrade, giving every European better control over their personal data and more access to digital services. Plus, with zk-proof, we can finally feel safe sending digital transactions without worrying about who’s snooping on us.
Unless the Council firmly objects, zero-knowledge proofs will be in EU law on digital identity & future EU apps, giving individuals greater control over their personal data, increasing trust in digital transactions, & facilitating cross-border interoperability of EU eID solutions

The EU Gets Serious Now!
The EU Research and Energy Committee voted 55 to 8 to include this snazzy new standard in their digital identity framework. And as long as the Council doesn’t throw a fit, we’ll soon see zk-proof in EU law for all kinds of digital goodies.
We don’t know all the juicy details yet since the draft isn’t public, but we’re crossing our fingers that this means a future with more privacy and security. Let’s hope they’re not just trying to pull a fast one on us and use the blockchain to keep an even closer eye on us than before.
