ETH Devs Declare War On With Holli Launch!
Breaking news! ETH devs are apparently tired of the scarcity of ETH on test networks, so they’re launching a new testnet called Holli Launch. The idea is to make it easier for developers and node operators to test out Ethereum applications without having to jump through hoops to acquire test ETH.
A new testnet, Holli, is planned to launch later this year, and hopefully we can figure out these things before then! I’ve made two suggestions on the repo, and would love to hear from application layer devs about how we could better approach this!

Apparently, the scarcity of test ETH has led to some ridiculous situations where people are actually selling it for real-world money. I mean, seriously? Who would pay actual money for fake money on a testnet? It’s like buying Monopoly money with actual cash.

We’re excited to introduce the Testnet Bridge as the first of several tools we launch for the Ethereum developer community.

Introducing Holli Launch: ETH Devs’ Solution to Test ETH Scarcity on Testnets
Anyway, the ETH devs are determined to solve this problem with the launch of Holli. One of the proposals is to airdrop test ETH to all the addresses that have ever deployed smart contracts on Ethereum mainnet or any of the testnets. Easy, right? Wrong. These devs have got their work cut out for them.
But fear not, my friends! The Testnet Bridge is just the first of several tools that the Ethereum developer community will be launching to make everyone’s lives easier. So sit back, relax, and let the ETH devs do their thing. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get some real ETH out of this deal. Kidding, of course. We all know the value of ETH is skyrocketing, even on testnets.
